Lead Engineer (React/Node): DeliveryTech, Cyprus Location: Cyprus (Paphos), hybrid (2 to 3 days in office) Employment: Full-time Salary: €70,000 to €100,000 + bonus About the Role We're looking for a lead engineer to lead a host of new features for a delivery platform. You've taken projects from scoping to production, kept other engineers moving, and stayed hands-on while doing it. Our client is a UK delivery operation moving millions of parcels, newspapers, and essentials every week for clients like Morrisons, as well as its own delivery network, delivering to more than a million homes in the UK each week. The role is based in Paphos, Cyprus. Our client is completely rewriting their platform, taking two decades of domain expertise and rebuilding it on a modern stack: React on the frontend, TypeScript end-to-end, and the freedom to make the right architectural decisions without legacy constraints. Greenfield work, informed by real-world scale. As Lead, you'll run projects end-to-end: scoping them with the head of product, planning the work, coordinating the engineers on it, and getting it into production. You'll stay hands-on in the code and architecture throughout. In a company of several hundred staff, you'll work directly with the CEO and CTO. No layers. No politics. What You'll Do Run engineering projects end to end: scoping, planning, priorities, and deliveryBreak the platform rewrite into clear, shippable pieces of work and keep them on trackWork with the CEO and CTO to turn business requirements into a plan and working softwareCoordinate the engineers on your projects: unblock them, review code, and keep quality highFlag risks and trade-offs early, and keep stakeholders up to date on progressStay hands-on across the stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL)Make architectural decisions with the CTO that will lastBuild tools that drivers, dispatchers, and operations teams rely on every day Who You Are 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including projects you've led from start to finishStrong React experience and deep TypeScript/Node.js skills: comfortable designing APIs, data models, and system architectureProven at running projects: scoping, estimating, managing trade-offs, and delivering predictablyComfortable guiding other engineers' work day to dayProduct-minded: you think about users first, not just code correctnessExcellent communicator: you can talk to leadership about trade-offs and to engineers about implementationYou care about craft and hold a high bar Tech Stack React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, Prisma Bonus experience: Python (legacy stack) #hiring #techjobs #engineering #leadengineer
