About The Role
AttainX is seeking a highly motivated Web Software Developer II to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (DHS CISA).
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining web-based software solutions for DHS CISA's Critical Infrastructure Collaboration Platform (CICP).
Your responsibilities will include creating engaging user interfaces, developing application features, and integrating web infrastructure to enhance operational workflows.
You will work closely with web administrators, designers, and technical teams throughout the entire development lifecycle, contributing to a secure, accessible, and user-friendly platform that supports critical infrastructure security initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, web development, or a related field.2-4 years of professional experience in web software development or related technical roles.Proven experience designing and developing web-accessible software, including user interfaces and reusable components.Ability to translate user needs and technical requirements into intuitive navigation and interface designs.Proficiency with web technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Python, SQL, Cloud Native Tools, Perl, PHP, ASP, and C++.Experience in software coding, debugging, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design tools.Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).Experience with back-end database development and constructing SQL queries via CGI scripting.Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and follow established development practices.Experience designing applications for federal government agencies, dashboards, geospatial interfaces, or data visualization is preferred.DHS Trusted Tester certification is preferred.Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust Clearance.
Responsibilities
Design and develop web-accessible software solutions that enhance user engagement and meet business requirements.Collaborate with web administrators, designers, developers, analysts, and stakeholders throughout the full development lifecycle.Create wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs to support new features and application enhancements.Develop and implement visually appealing, user-friendly graphical interfaces consistent with CISA branding and standards.Write, test, and debug application code using approved web technologies, maintaining reusable interface components.Develop supporting web infrastructure, including back-end databases and SQL queries via CGI scripting.Integrate web interfaces with application services, APIs, dashboards, geospatial tools, and enterprise visualization solutions.Ensure accessibility compliance by incorporating Section 508 standards into each development cycle, including testing for keyboard navigation, contrast, labels, and assistive technology compatibility.Participate in agile planning sessions, code reviews, and design reviews, escalating complex issues as needed.Support testing activities, including usability, responsiveness, browser compatibility, and security assessments, documenting defects and recommendations.Coordinate with security teams on access controls, privacy, and handling of Protected Critical Infrastructure Information (PCII).Assist in migration and deployment activities by reviewing interface readiness, validating workflows, and ensuring user experience quality post-release.Maintain comprehensive documentation of design assets, interface specifications, and user workflows to facilitate knowledge transfer and future upgrades.
