Platform Engineer | Front Office Technology London-based | £700-£800p/d Azure | Kubernetes | Terraform | CI/CD | Python | Platform Engineering The Role: A reputable investment firm is hiring a Platform Engineer to help build and evolve the engineering platform that underpins business-critical applications used by investment and trading teams. This is a hands-on role sitting across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure and software delivery. You'll help create the tooling, automation and operational foundations that allow engineering teams to ship services quickly, securely and reliably. There is a significant amount of new development work, offering genuine influence over platform direction and engineering standards. What You Will Be Doing: Build and enhance cloud-based platform capabilities used across multiple engineering teamsDevelop and improve deployment automation, release processes and developer toolingOperate and evolve Kubernetes environments supporting production workloadsCreate reusable infrastructure modules and automation frameworksImprove monitoring, reliability and operational maturity across critical systemsWork closely with application developers and business-facing technology teams to remove delivery bottlenecks and improve developer experience What You Bring: Strong background in platform engineering, DevOps or cloud infrastructureExperience with Kubernetes and containerised application environmentsGood knowledge of Azure or another major public cloud platformExperience getting GitHub Actions runners working on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) would be advantageousInfrastructure-as-code experience using tools such as TerraformFamiliarity with modern CI/CD tooling and automated delivery practicesComfortable working with Linux environments and scripting in Python or Bash Additional Info: £700-£800 per day via UmbrellaHybrid working model (4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week)Exposure to high-impact technology programmesOpportunity to help shape platform strategy and engineering standardsStrong scope for progression and increased technical ownership
