About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our high-end, scalable e-commerce platform. Sitting just below the Tech Director, you will be instrumental in addressing technical bottlenecks, improving system performance, and ensuring the robustness of our technology stack. The Senior PHP Developer will collaborate closely with our passionate in-house development team, providing technical guidance and sharing expertise to foster innovation and continuous improvement. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including development, specification writing, project planning assistance, code reviews, and architectural overview. Your contributions will directly impact the growth and scalability of our platform, making this a highly rewarding position for a proactive and technically proficient professional. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of commercial experience in PHP development, with a strong background in MySQL and Linux server environments. Proven expertise in database optimization and caching technologies is essential. Candidates should demonstrate leadership capabilities, either as a Lead Developer, Development Manager, or in a similar senior role, with full accountability for team management and technical direction. Key Qualifications Include Extensive experience with PHP, MySQL, and LAMP stackSolid understanding of MVC frameworks and ORMProficiency in HTML, CSS/XHTML, and JQueryExperience with caching technologies such as MemCached, Redis, or VarnishStrong knowledge of Linux, including command-line operations and server administrationExperience with unit testing and code review practicesExcellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal Additional advantageous skills include knowledge of Apache mod_rewrite, Smarty templating, and e-commerce platforms. Prior experience in server administration and familiarity with scalable architecture will be considered a plus.
