About The Role We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled C++ Software Engineer to join a leading organization in the maritime industry based in Plymouth, UK. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary range of 40,000 to 50,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a key member of the development team, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing high-performance software solutions that enhance maritime safety and operational efficiency. You will work on innovative projects that challenge your technical expertise and provide opportunities for professional growth. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software specialists, will be essential to deliver integrated solutions that meet industry standards and client expectations. Qualifications A relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on C++ programming.Practical knowledge of real-time systems and embedded software is highly desirable.Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance is required. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement robust software applications using C++ that meet project requirements.Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions.Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and adherence to best practices.Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software issues to ensure system reliability and performance.Optimize software for maritime applications, focusing on efficiency and scalability.Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing development and maintenance.Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment.Stay informed about emerging industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve software solutions.
