Position Overview An experienced and motivated Software Developer is sought to join a growing IT team within the insurance sector. The role involves developing, improving, and maintaining internal business platforms, customer applications, and system integrations while contributing to modern software development practices. Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will design, develop, and maintain full-stack software solutions, working across database structures, backend services, and user interfaces. The role includes building and improving integrations between internal platforms, customer applications, and core business systems using technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and React Native. Responsibilities also involve conducting code reviews, implementing automated testing, maintaining code quality, and ensuring software releases meet security, reliability, and regulatory requirements. The candidate will collaborate closely with the IT team, support junior developers, and contribute to improving existing systems and development processes. Requirements Candidates should have approximately 3 years or more of professional software development experience, with strong knowledge of at least one programming language, including C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Experience in full-stack development, SQL, REST APIs, Git, and software deployment processes is required, together with the ability to work effectively with existing codebases. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, particularly when explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with financial services, regulated industries, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, React Native, or legacy systems will be considered an advantage. Proficiency in English is required, while knowledge of Maltese is an asset.
