Position Description CGI is seeking an experienced DevOps Consultant – Application Release & Platform Operations to join our growing Cloud and Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery, deployment, and operational stability of enterprise applications across cloud and hybrid environments. Acting as a guardian of the production environment, you will help design and maintain secure, automated, and resilient deployment pipelines while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and compliance of mission-critical platforms. Working closely with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams, you will contribute to cloud modernization initiatives, infrastructure automation, release management, and operational excellence within a highly regulated environment. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in one of CGI's Atlantic Canada offices, including Halifax, NS; Moncton or Fredericton, NB; St. John's, NL; or Stratford, PEI. Candidates must be currently located in Atlantic Canada or willing to relocate. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite. Your future duties and responsibilities Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting enterprise application deployments. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies. Support cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability solutions. Integrate automated security controls and vulnerability scanning into CI/CD pipelines. Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes. Manage application deployments, release activities, and production support while ensuring operational stability. Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, Go, or similar scripting languages. Contribute to disaster recovery planning, platform resiliency, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field. Experience working within highly regulated industries such as financial services, banking, healthcare, or government. Strong experience with CI/CD platforms including Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar tools. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Pulumi, or similar). Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience supporting AWS cloud environments. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform is considered an asset. Experience with Git-based version control using GitHub or Bitbucket. Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, Go, Ruby, or similar languages. Experience supporting relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Assets The following qualifications would be considered assets: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification. Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or Certified DevSecOps Professional certification. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Experience integrating with mainframe or legacy middleware platforms. Experience within financial services, including payment technologies such as ISO 20022, SWIFT, Fedwire, or Lynx. Experience with cloud cost optimization tools such as CloudHealth or KubeCost. Experience with advanced observability platforms and distributed systems. Experience designing highly available, multi-region disaster recovery solutions. CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$125,000 CAD. This role is an existing vacancy.
