Let’s shape the future of wealth management together. We are looking for an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to own the technical direction and evolution of our enterprise Design System. The ideal candidate is a front-end specialist with deep expertise in modern web technologies, accessibility, and reusable component architecture. This role is responsible for defining front-end engineering standards, governing the Design System, and enabling consistent adoption across multiple applications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with designers, architects, product owners, and engineering teams while providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering excellence. YOUR CHALLENGE Core Responsibilities: Own the technical direction and evolution of the enterprise Design SystemDesign, develop, and maintain reusable, accessible UI components and front-end frameworksDefine and maintain front-end architecture, component APIs, design tokens, theming, and engineering best practicesGovern component lifecycle, versioning, release strategy, and backward compatibilityDrive Design System adoption through technical guidance, documentation, code reviews, and developer enablementChampion accessibility by ensuring components comply with WCAG standards and accessibility best practicesLead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering decisions across front-end initiativesMentor engineers and foster engineering excellence through technical coaching and knowledge sharingEngage with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, UX, and Architecture to align technical direction and deliver scalable solutionsStay current with emerging front-end technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management: Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulationsTake responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards YOUR PROFILE Personal and Social: Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skillsExperience leading technical discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering decisionsAbility to mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practicesProven ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Product, UX, and Architecture teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Professional and Technical: Professional: Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise front-end applicationsDemonstrated success driving Design System adoption across multiple teams and applicationsExperience working in Agile software development environments Technical: Must Have:Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScriptExtensive experience with StencilJS, Web Components, Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and component compositionProven experience building and managing enterprise Design Systems or reusable component librariesStrong understanding of design tokens, theming, semantic HTML, and WAI-ARIAExpert knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and accessibility-first developmentHands-on experience using screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver for accessibility validationExperience using axe-core and other accessibility testing toolsExperience working in Internationalization and LocalizationExperience developing automated tests using Playwright (or equivalent) with accessibility integrationExperience working with Micro Front-End architecture and Module FederationExperience collaborating with UX teams using FigmaFamiliarity with modern monorepo and build tooling such as Nx, pnpm, Turborepo, or similar Desirable:Experience leading front-end engineering initiatives or Design System teamsExperience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and application lifecycle managementKnowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native deployment environmentsContributions to open-source Design Systems, Web Component libraries, or accessibility initiatives We are looking forward to receiving your full job application through our online application tool.
