Position Summary
The (Senior) Project Engineer will help shape the next generation of culinary products by combining practical engineering judgment, hands-on product development, and curiosity about what is possible.
This role combines hands-on engineering, creative problem-solving, and technical leadership.
The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical or electromechanical engineering experience, a collaborative mindset, and motivation to explore new ideas, emerging technologies, and practical ways to improve product design.
The Project Engineer serves as the technical owner for assigned products and collaborates with Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Marketing, Product Validation, Product Certification, Global Engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to bring successful products to market.

The Project Engineer serves as the technical owner for assigned products and collaborates with Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Marketing, Product Validation, Product Certification, Global Engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to bring successful products to market.
Product Development and Design
Own technical development of multiple products from concept through launch, balancing performance, quality, cost, schedule, and manufacturability.
Design mechanical and electromechanical products for demanding environments.
Translate customer, business, and design requirements into specifications, CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials.
Build, test, and refine prototypes, solving technical problems and making sound engineering tradeoffs.
Technical Leadership
Serve as technical lead, run design reviews, and communicate recommendations, risks, and decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, global engineering, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering curiosity, creativity, and strong engineering practices.
Validation and Manufacturing Readiness
Partner with Validation and Certification teams to define test requirements and verify performance, safety, and compliance.
Analyze test results, identify root causes, and apply design improvements throughout development.
Support Global Engineering and suppliers through tooling, pilot builds, and launch, resolving production issues and engineering changes.
Review designs and processes for quality, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Explore emerging technologies, materials, methods, and digital tools to improve performance, usability, and customer value.
Incorporate customer, field, and service feedback into future improvements.
Share lessons learned and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.5+ years developing heated or motorized culinary equipment, appliances, electromechanical products, or durable goods.Experience with mechanical or electromechanical systems, including heating, motors, controls, sensors, sheet metal, plastics, castings, or fabricated components.Experience leading products from concept through prototyping, validation, tooling, and launch.Experience designing for durability, sanitation, continuous-duty operation, and serviceability.Experience collaborating with global suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional teams.Ability to solve complex problems, communicate technical decisions, and balance performance, quality, cost, and schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or training in product development, thermal or motor systems, materials, manufacturing, or electromechanical design.Familiarity with product safety and sanitation standards such as UL, NSF, and CSA.
Compensation
Conair has established a good faith salary range for this position.
The salary range reflects the Company's reasonable expectation for the role at the time of posting and is based on a variety of factors including business needs, market conditions, candidate qualifications, experience, skills, and internal equity.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000 annually.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in Conair's annual bonus program.
Conair also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage; short- and long-term disability insurance; paid parental leave; paid time off; 11 paid holidays; two paid volunteer days; employee product discounts; and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
Eligibility for certain benefits may vary based on employment status and plan terms.
Environmental Factors
This role is performed in a professional office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting, working on a computer, and using standard office equipment.
The position follows Conair's hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at the Stamford, CT office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
