Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Role: Senior Software Engineer (Java) Job Type: Contract Location: Kraków, Poland (Hybrid – 2 days in the office / 3 days remote) Job Description: This role will focus on developing and supporting distributed Java systems, designing robust microservices, and driving DevOps, Agile, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will collaborate with product owners, IT specialists, architects, and management to analyse requirements, design scalable technical solutions, improve platform reliability, and enhance observability. The role also involves incident and problem management, CI/CD automation, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, alerting, and continuous service improvement. Required Skills: • 4+ years of experience developing and supporting distributed systems using Java. • Strong Java development skills and experience designing microservices using Spring Boot. • Good knowledge of Java technologies, frameworks, and DevOps tools. • Experience with Java SE, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. • Experience with CI/CD automation, Jenkins, and Ansible. • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and vulnerability remediation. • Experience with GCP, Redis, and distributed data-processing technologies such as Apache Beam or Apache Flink. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly. • Experience applying DevOps, Agile, and SRE principles to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency. • Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, incident management, problem management, and capacity management. • Business-ready English communication skills; German language skills are an advantage. • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across regions. Nice to Have: • Experience with Angular. • Strong knowledge of Java and microservices architecture.
