Description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys working across the full range of game development infrastructure, from Unreal build pipelines and game server deployment to backend services and cloud infrastructure. If you like solving problems that directly affect how fast teams can build, test, and ship games, we'd love to hear from you. About The Role You will be part of our Tech Foundations team while also working directly with our game teams to support their day-to-day needs. Your role will span two key areas: On the game side, you will own and improve the infrastructure behind Unreal Engine development: build pipelines, build caching, automated testing, game deployment, and dedicated server deployment. Your goal is to make sure developers get fast, reliable, and actionable feedback, and that builds reach testers and platforms smoothly. On the platform side, you will take on more classic DevOps work, including backend application deployment and infrastructure provisioning, in close collaboration with our Cloud and Backend team. This role suits someone who enjoys variety and can comfortably move between a failing nightly build and an infrastructure change in the same afternoon. Who You Are Proven experience as a DevOps or Build Engineer working with complex game CI/CD systems.Senior, hands-on experience with Unreal Engine build and deployment workflows, including delivering production-ready projects.Experience deploying and operating backend services and cloud infrastructure, including infrastructure as code.Strong understanding of CI/CD infrastructure, tooling, and operational pipelines.Skilled in diagnosing complex issues across build systems, servers, and infrastructure, and getting to the root cause quickly.Passionate about improving developer experience and workflow efficiency.Collaborative and comfortable working across teams with different needs, from game developers to backend engineers.Committed to clear documentation and effective knowledge transfer.Comfortable working in our tech stack: Jenkins (Groovy, Jenkins pipeline) Perforce version control Python Golang (used in backend applications) Game platform SDKs (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc.) Grafana / Zabbix GCP or similar cloud providers Infrastructure as code, e.g. Terraform Containers and orchestration, e.g. Docker / Kubernetes Nice To Have Experience with Unreal build acceleration and caching, such as Derived Data Cache, Zen server, or Unreal Build Accelerator.Experience with Unreal automation testing frameworks such as Gauntlet.Experience hosting and orchestrating dedicated game servers.Familiarity with platform submission and certification workflows. What You'll Do Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for Unreal projects, covering compiling, cooking, packaging, and distribution.Own and optimize build caching infrastructure to keep iteration times short across the studio.Develop and maintain automated testing infrastructure so game teams can catch issues early.Automate deployment of game builds to internal testers and platform storefronts, and of dedicated servers to test and live environments.Deploy and operate backend applications in partnership with the Cloud and Backend team.Provision and manage infrastructure using infrastructure as code practices.Improve feedback, logging, monitoring, and error reporting across pipelines and services, introducing mechanisms for quick root cause determination.Keep pipelines healthy by acting on and recovering from failures to unblock development.Work directly with game teams to understand their needs, while aligning solutions with Tech Foundations standards.Produce clear documentation and guidance so improvements are adopted and maintainable long-term.
