About The Role BlackRock is seeking a highly skilled AI Platform Engineer to join its Aladdin Engineering team. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining the next-generation scalable AI platform that underpins BlackRock’s investment management technology. As part of the AI Platform Engineering team, you will be instrumental in shaping the firm’s AI ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of AI models across the organization. The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of financial technology innovation, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. You will be responsible for implementing cloud-native infrastructure, managing Kubernetes clusters, and building automated pipelines for machine learning workflows, all while ensuring platform security and compliance. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer eager to influence the future of AI-driven investment solutions and contribute to a globally recognized financial organization. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in software and platform engineering is required, with proven expertise in building scalable APIs and microservices. Deep proficiency in Kubernetes, including Helm charts, Kustomize, and custom resource definitions (CRDs), is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with containerization technologies like Docker and containerd, is mandatory. Candidates should have a solid understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Strong knowledge of networking, security policies, and API gateways in cloud environments is also necessary. Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, C++, and Python, especially in data science tools like PyTorch, Jax, and Numpy, is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with distributed systems, monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and experience working within Agile teams will be advantageous. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain a scalable AI platform that supports BlackRock’s investment management technology ecosystem.Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for deploying and scaling AI models efficiently.Build platform abstractions to manage cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.Create and maintain automated pipelines for continuous training, testing, and deployment of machine learning models, integrating enterprise security and compliance standards.Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of the AI platform through proactive troubleshooting and optimization.Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical designs and solutions.Apply best practices in software engineering throughout the development lifecycle to ensure high-quality deliverables.Collaborate effectively with team members across multiple offices and geographic locations, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork.Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in AI, cloud engineering, and related technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities.
