We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety. We're seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our technology team and play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments. This is an opportunity to work across both AWS and Azure, helping to modernise platforms, improve operational excellence, and drive cloud optimisation initiatives that deliver real business value. What You'll Do Design, deploy, and support cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and AzureBuild and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormationDevelop automation solutions using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, and other modern toolsImplement cloud security best practices, governance controls, and compliance standardsDrive cloud cost optimisation initiatives through resource rightsizing, utilisation analysis, and FinOps practicesDevelop and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to improve service reliabilitySupport cloud backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilitiesCollaborate closely with engineering, security, operations, and business teams to deliver cloud solutions and resolve incidentsProduce technical documentation, reporting, and recommendations to improve cloud operations and performance What You'll Bring Baseline or NV1 clearance is highly regardedAustralian Citizenship is a must for this position as it needs security clearance Over 7 years of proven experience designing and supporting cloud environments in AWS and AzureHands-on expertise with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code toolsStrong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPNs, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and security controlsExperience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and KubernetesStrong scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similarExperience implementing cloud security controls, IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworksHands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms, including logging, alerting, dashboard development, and troubleshootingExperience managing cloud costs, resource optimisation, and cloud governance initiativesExcellent problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills Nice to Have Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelinesUnderstanding of FinOps and cloud financial managementExperience with cloud governance, risk, and compliance frameworkAWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Security, or FinOps certifications.
