This is a Fully Remote Job About Our Client: The organization operates in the medical imaging and sensing industry, focusing on ultrasound technology. It addresses challenges in ultrasound accessibility and affordability by developing proprietary Ultrasound-on-Chip semiconductor technology combined with software solutions. The company has commercialized portable, single-probe ultrasound devices for whole-body imaging and offers cloud software, AI applications, and a licensing program to extend ultrasound technology into new markets, demonstrating significant innovation and impact in healthcare imaging. About the Opportunity: The STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER - ANDROID role is focused on designing and developing native Android applications that enhance the ultrasound user experience. This position drives improvements in software architecture and team processes, collaborates cross-functionally to solve complex challenges, and integrates features across hardware, cloud, and imaging domains. The role is critical for delivering user-centered medical imaging applications and advancing the organization's technological capabilities. Responsibilities: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify and implement requirements.Develop and maintain high-quality Kotlin code for Android applications.Adhere to and evolve software architecture patterns within a complex codebase.Mentor engineers across experience levels.Integrate advanced technologies including deep learning, telemedicine, and device connectivity.Utilize modern Android development tools such as Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, and GraphQL.Break down product requirements into actionable engineering tasks.Support various tasks as needed within the role. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Over 5 years of experience in native Android application development.Strong proficiency in Kotlin, coroutines, and reactive framework design.Experience with Jetpack Compose and View-based UI development.Knowledge of JUnit and UI automation testing frameworks like Espresso.Passion for creating meaningful software solutions. Preferred qualifications: Experience with complex app structures involving JNI/NDK and C++ integration.Familiarity with Gradle multi-module builds and modular architecture.Understanding of graphics rendering and image processing technologies.Skills in Python and C++ to collaborate with device and imaging teams.
