ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a hands-on Director of AI Solutions Engineering with a strong product mindset to build reusable, production-ready AI solutions and lead a team of offshore AI Solutions Engineers working as Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs). You’ll work closely with Cimba AI’s founders and sales team to understand customer needs, shape solution strategy, and drive technical wins. You’ll partner with product and engineering to lead technical discovery, build proofs of value, and guide successful production deployments. You’ll turn recurring customer needs into reusable agents, integrations, and capabilities that strengthen Cimba’s platform over time, balancing immediate delivery with long-term product development. A core responsibility will be ensuring that our agents deliver accurate, reliable, consistent, and traceable results that customers can trust. This role is ideal for someone who has built or delivered AI or analytics applications at a startup or small-to-midsize enterprise, with experience in retail, ecommerce, CPG, or audit. WHAT YOU’LL DO Partner closely with founders and sales: Shape customer engagements, lead technical sales discussions, and translate business priorities into compelling AI solutions.Lead customer discovery: Understand business challenges, operational and audit workflows, data environments, and success metrics.Build reusable AI solutions: Design agents, analytics applications, and integrations that address customer needs and can be extended across deployments.Lead an offshore engineering team: Set technical direction, prioritize projects, review solution quality, and mentor AI Solutions Engineers while coordinating delivery across time zones.Ensure agent accuracy and reliability: Establish evaluation datasets, validate calculations and recommendations, test edge cases, and monitor performance in production.Make agent outputs auditable: Ensure findings and recommendations can be traced to source data, business rules, and supporting evidence, with appropriate review and approval controls.Own technical evaluations: Build tailored demos and proofs of value with clear scope, timelines, and measurable acceptance criteria.Guide production deployments: Partner with customers and internal teams on data readiness, configuration, testing, rollout, and adoption.Deliver measurable outcomes: Address use cases across inventory, margin, merchandising, marketing efficiency, fulfillment, financial reconciliation, audit evidence collection, and exception detection.Shape long-term product development: Identify common needs across customers and turn them into maintainable platform capabilities that improve reliability and reduce future implementation effort.Build the function: Create reusable solution patterns, evaluation frameworks, technical documentation, and implementation playbooks; help hire and develop the team as we grow. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or customer-facing implementation for AI or analytics software.Direct experience delivering applications in at least one of retail, ecommerce or CPG, with an understanding of relevant workflows and business metrics.A startup or small-to-midsize enterprise background, with demonstrated ownership and comfort working through ambiguity.A strong product mindset, with demonstrated ability to turn customer-specific requirements into reusable, maintainable solutions and balance near-term delivery with long-term value.Strong hands-on skills in SQL, Python, APIs, data modeling, and system integrations.Practical experience building or deploying LLM-powered applications or AI agents.Experience evaluating AI accuracy and reliability, validating outputs against source data, and implementing monitoring, safeguards, and human review.Experience taking customer engagements from discovery through technical validation and production adoption.Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, manage delivery, and collaborate across time zones.Ability to communicate clearly with executives, earn credibility with technical teams, and explain capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs. NICE TO HAVE Experience with Shopify, NetSuite, Amazon Marketplace, advertising platforms, or related commerce and ERP systems.Familiarity with cloud data warehouses, BI platforms, semantic layers, and modern data infrastructure.Experience with audit analytics, financial controls, reconciliations, transaction testing, or evidence management.Familiarity with data lineage, access controls, audit trails, and approval workflows.Experience helping sales teams win complex opportunities and expand customer relationships.
