About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Front-end Engineer to join the Risk Technology team at J.P.
Morgan.
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the Wholesale Credit Risk Core Platform, a vital software platform that underpins all Wholesale Credit Risk Technology initiatives.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable, and high-performance front-end solutions that interface seamlessly with back-end systems built on Spring Boot and deployed on Kubernetes-based platforms across private and public clouds.
You will work within an agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand complex requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of system stability, deployment efficiency, and overall product quality, supporting the firm’s strategic objectives and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of formal training and practical experience in software engineering, with a focus on front-end development.
Candidates should have hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies such as Javascript, Typescript, React, and related frameworks.
A strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and cloud deployment solutions like Kubernetes is essential.
Experience leading the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools, promoting secure coding practices, and ensuring responsible AI use within development workflows is highly desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in system design, debugging, and maintaining large-scale applications within a corporate environment.
Excellent communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, and a collaborative mindset are also required to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Execute software solutions, including design, development, and troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build innovative solutions or resolve complex technical problems.Collaborate closely with multiple teams to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and create solutions that serve a broad range of stakeholders.Develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with associated systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Lead the team in adopting enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices, enhancing code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes through tools such as AI-assisted code review, refactoring, and testing strategies.Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and automation capabilities to improve development efficiency and system automation.Continuously enhance system stability, performance, and scalability through proactive monitoring and iterative improvements.Create and maintain architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring adherence to design constraints and best practices.Participate in software engineering communities and events, exploring emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into the team’s workflows.Foster a team culture rooted in diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and mutual respect, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
