Zurich Canada is currently looking for an Entry-Level Automation Engineer to join our technology team.

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will contribute to the development and automation of Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications while building your expertise in Guidewire technologies, insurance business processes, and modern software engineering practices.
Working alongside developers, quality engineers, business analysts, and Guidewire subject matter experts, you will help support the quality and delivery of critical business systems through automation, testing, and application development.

What You Will Do
Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for Guidewire applications.Contribute to development activities within the Guidewire application environment.Automate key business workflows and end-to-end scenarios across Guidewire and integrated applications.Support UI, API, regression, smoke, and integration testing activities.Collaborate with developers, quality assurance engineers, business analysts, and Guidewire subject matter experts to translate business and technical requirements into automated solutions.Assist in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines under the guidance of senior team members.Maintain test data, automation documentation, and execution results.Investigate automation failures and support defect identification, analysis, and troubleshooting.Participate in code reviews and adhere to established coding, testing, and automation standards.Develop an understanding of application architecture, interfaces, APIs, databases, and supporting systems.
Continuously expand knowledge of Guidewire functionality, insurance business processes, and automation technologies.
Job Qualifications- What You Bring To The Table
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.Basic programming or scripting knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.Basic knowledge of Guidewire InsuranceSuite, preferably PolicyCenter.Understanding of software development lifecycle and software testing fundamentals.Exposure to automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber, or similar technologies.Basic understanding of REST APIs and API testing concepts.Familiarity with databases and basic SQL.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced technology environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous academic, internship, co-op, or project experience involving Guidewire InsuranceSuite.Exposure to CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.Exposure to insurance industry technology platforms and business processes.
Compensation
At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity.
We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity.
The salary range for this position is $62,500 - $86,100 .
This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications.
As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
