The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data technologies, AWS data services, Databricks, SQL development, and complex ETL processes. You will play a key role in transforming business requirements into reliable, scalable, and high-quality data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and informed decision-making. This role is well suited to a technically strong developer who enjoys solving complex data challenges, optimizing data pipelines, collaborating with business stakeholders, and delivering dependable software solutions throughout the software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities ETL Development and Data Integration Design, develop, implement, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple sources.Build and enhance both initial and recurring data load processes for structured and semi-structured data, relational databases, and multidimensional data stores.Develop, maintain, and optimize data integration workflows, scheduling mechanisms, job dependencies, and automated data processing routines.Implement data cleansing, transformation, validation, and quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability.Investigate data discrepancies, identify issues within existing ETL pipelines, and recommend effective solutions to minimize operational disruptions.Maintain and enhance existing data pipelines, ensuring they remain scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with business needs. Cloud Data Platforms and Database Development Develop and maintain data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.Leverage Databricks for data processing, transformation, and integration activities.Develop and support data solutions using AWS services, including Amazon Aurora, AWS Glue, Amazon OpenSearch, and related database and search technologies.Design and maintain database structures, data models, data marts, and data warehouses in accordance with established architecture standards.Write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries to improve database performance and support efficient data retrieval.Apply database development, administration, and performance-tuning best practices to ensure reliable data operations. Software Development and Quality Assurance Translate technical specifications and business requirements into functional, tested, and maintainable applications.Write high-quality, reusable, and well-documented code using appropriate design patterns and development standards.Design, code, compile, test, debug, and maintain ETL applications and supporting software components.Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and resolve defects throughout the development and implementation process.Participate in development, testing, quality assurance, deployment, migration, and post-implementation support activities.Use Git and established source control practices to manage code changes, collaborate with development teams, and maintain version history.Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, automation, reliability, and maintainability. Data Modeling, Documentation, and Reporting Develop and maintain technical documentation, including ETL source-to-target mappings, data model diagrams, architecture artifacts, technical specifications, and detailed design documents.Document data flows, transformation rules, scheduling dependencies, business logic, and system processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge transfer.Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, database administrators, developers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.Support the development of dashboards, scheduled reports, ad hoc reports, and key performance indicator (KPI) visualizations using Power BI and related reporting tools.Ensure data solutions meet business expectations and established quality, performance, and documentation standards. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to gather, clarify, document, and validate requirements.Translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable information for both technical and non-technical audiences.Participate in technical discussions, design walkthroughs, code reviews, and solution planning sessions.Provide technical assistance during system implementation, data migration, deployment, and operational support.Manage competing priorities effectively while meeting project milestones, delivery commitments, and deadlines. Required Qualifications and Technical Skills Cloud and Data Engineering Candidates should have demonstrated hands-on experience with the following technologies and capabilities: Microsoft Azure: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.Databricks: Data processing, transformation, and integration using the Databricks platform.Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Glue, Amazon Aurora, Amazon OpenSearch, and related database, search, and data integration services.ETL Development: Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining end-to-end ETL pipelines.Data Integration: Working with structured and semi-structured files, relational databases, and multidimensional data stores.Workflow Orchestration: Implementing and maintaining ETL scheduling, job dependencies, and recurring data load processes.Data Quality: Performing data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting to maintain high-quality data.Data Warehousing: Applying data modeling and design principles for data warehouses, data marts, and business intelligence solutions.SQL Development: Constructing complex SQL queries, optimizing query execution, and performing database performance tuning.Database Administration: Understanding database management, maintenance, and operational best practices. Software Engineering and Development Practices Experience working through the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development to testing, quality assurance, delivery, and maintenance.Proficiency in programming, application design, debugging, testing, and technical troubleshooting.Experience using Git and source control strategies in collaborative development environments.Knowledge of software design patterns, coding standards, application deployment, and production support.Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation and maintain accurate system records.Experience translating technical specifications and business requirements into functional software solutions.
