About the role
Sniffies is growing its engineering team in the US, and this is a senior hire into our product engineering team.
As Senior Frontend Engineer, you will build the user-facing product on a platform with around 3 million monthly users and 20 million messages a day.
Our frontend is the product, built in Angular.
It powers the live map, real-time messaging, subscriptions, ads, and the trust and safety and privacy workflows our users rely on every day.
You will work in a modern Angular 20+ codebase at genuine consumer scale, where performance, state management, and real-time updates matter on every screen.
You will own features from technical design through release and iteration, make pragmatic architecture calls, and help raise the quality of the code and the team around you.
You will join a fully remote product engineering team.
This role suits someone already well established at a senior level, who moves quickly, enjoys working across both web and mobile, and knows how to keep a high-traffic product fast.
This is an individual contributor role suited to someone with deep Angular expertise, strong production instincts, and the judgment to balance speed with quality.

Architecture and Technical Design
Write and review technical designs for frontend systems.Identify architecture tradeoffs and recommend pragmatic solutions that balance speed, quality, performance, and maintainability.Lead complex initiatives involving shared components, state management, routing, and API integration.
Performance and Production Quality
Optimize rendering, state, and network handling for a high-traffic, real-time platform.Diagnose production issues using Sentry, browser dev tools, logs, analytics, and QA feedback, and follow through with fixes that last.Reduce regressions and make frontend systems easier to understand, debug, and extend over time.
Collaboration
Partner closely with product, design, QA, and backend engineers to shape what gets built and how.Mentor less experienced engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance.
Qualifications
7+ years of professional experience building, scaling, and supporting frontend applications in production.Deep, current experience with Angular 20+ and TypeScript.Significant mobile experience, ideally with Capacitor and Ionic; React Native or native iOS and Android experience also counts.A track record of optimizing frontend performance on a high-traffic, user-facing product.Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, routing, and API integration.Strong debugging skills across browsers, devices, client-side state, API integrations, and production systems.Experience with accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.Clear communication with engineering, product, design, and QA partners.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience at a social media, dating, or other consumer platform, particularly one with real-time or location-based features.Experience with mobile release workflows, app store constraints, and native bridge integrations.Experience with design systems, shared component libraries, or frontend platform work.Familiarity with backend development workflows, especially Node.js, APIs, MongoDB, or cloud services.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release operations.
