Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Linux Administrator with strong RHEL experience and expertise in automation, platform design, containerization, and CI/CD.
The successful candidate will build, secure, and operate large-scale, container-centric platforms that enable rapid and reliable software delivery.
This role requires deep experience with rootless Podman, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, HashiCorp Vault, Packer, Nexus Repository Manager, and Python automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, implement, and operate container-centric platforms using rootless Podman for unprivileged workloads.Build immutable images with Packer and automate provisioning through Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections.Manage Sonatype Nexus repositories for container images, Helm charts, and binary packages.Deploy, scale, maintain, and troubleshoot production-grade Kubernetes clusters.Integrate Helm charts and custom resources across Kubernetes environments.Develop end-to-end GitLab CI/CD pipelines that include automated testing, security scanning, caching, runners, and production deployments.Create and maintain Python scripts for orchestration, API integrations, and utility automation involving Nexus, Vault, GitLab, and related platforms.Deploy and operate HashiCorp Vault for dynamic secrets, encryption as a service, credential rotation, authentication, and policy management.Harden rootless container runtimes and enforce least-privilege security practices.Provision and configure compute, networking, storage, monitoring, and related infrastructure through Ansible.Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for container workloads and platform services.Build self-service tools and dashboards that help engineering teams troubleshoot and scale independently.Collaborate with software engineering, security, and SRE teams to establish platform standards and align with broader architecture goals.Document architecture, develop operational runbooks, and mentor junior engineers on containerization, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and automation best practices.
Qualifications
2-3 years of experience building, deploying, and managing containers with rootless Podman or comparable runtimes.Expert-level experience with Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections in large-scale infrastructure environments.Hands-on experience with Sonatype Nexus Repository Manager, including Docker, Maven, NuGet, and raw repositories.Experience using Packer to create immutable virtual machine, container, or cloud images.Production experience deploying and operating HashiCorp Vault, including dynamic secrets, policies, and authentication methods.Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including runners, caching, automated testing, and security scanning.Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting production Kubernetes clusters.Working knowledge of Helm, Kubernetes custom resources, and container networking.Strong Linux administration skills, particularly with RHEL, systemd, networking, and security hardening.Ability to design and evaluate end-to-end platform architectures with attention to scalability, reliability, and security.Demonstrated success reducing manual effort through automation and code-driven processes.Strong Python scripting and API integration skills.Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
