Description

For our client, we are seeking a Frontend Engineer, Underwriting to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will focus on building polished, high-performing web experiences that support underwriting workflows in a data-intensive environment. You will partner closely with Product, Design, backend engineering, and end users to improve usability, trust, and speed across critical internal tools. The position will also contribute to AI-assisted workflows and help shape technical direction as the product scales. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $115,000 – $168,000 annually Responsibilities Build and enhance a web-based experience for underwriting teams and their workflows Ensure fast, reliable performance of a data-heavy application as usage grows Develop clear, trustworthy interfaces for AI-assisted workflows Collaborate with Product Management and Design to define user requirements Engage directly with underwriters to gather insights for product improvements Promote technical quality through code reviews and contributions to the technical roadmap Qualifications Two or more years in software development; degree in Computer Science or similar experience Proficient in modern TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS for web user interfaces Experience integrating frontend apps with REST APIs and collaborating with backend engineers Comfortable managing complex application state such as tables, filters, and synchronized workflows Skilled in diagnosing frontend performance issues using tools such as Chrome DevTools and Sentry Strong product judgment with the ability to navigate ambiguity effectively Familiarity with Git and agile development practices Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to learn from users and teammates Benefits 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage Flexible PTO policy Annual home office stipend and access to WeWork Mental and physical health wellness programs Competitive compensation with advancement opportunities Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
