Own the infrastructure behind hotels, resorts and holiday parks. The opportunity The foundations are in place. Our AWS stack was re-architected about two years ago, and the move from SQL Server to PostgreSQL is nearly done. What's left is the good part: cutting cloud cost, consolidating AWS and Azure, and automating incident response so we scale without adding headcount. Mentor junior engineers and decide how work is shared, so capability grows with the estate. Real authority. You review production changes from Engineering and can sign them off or block them when risk isn't covered. What you'll take on Own the architecture, performance and resilience of our cloud infrastructure across four regions.Reduce cloud cost and consolidate AWS and Azure, finding the waste and planning its removal.Automate monitoring, alerting and incident response to cut on-call load and speed up recovery.Help land the SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration, then lead future modernisation with clear rollback plans and runbooks.Review Engineering's production changes and hold the line on infrastructure risk.Mentor junior engineers and allocate their work, so knowledge is shared, not held by one person. The team you'll join You'll report to the CIO and guide a group of junior engineers in Technical Services. You'll work closely with our AI and Data team and our software engineering teams. What you'll bring Significant experience in infrastructure, site reliability or platform engineering, owning production at scale.Hands on AWS experience, including networking, ideally with Kubernetes and Aurora or RDS PostgreSQL.A track record of automating alerting, monitoring and incident response.Comfort being on call: a 24/7 roster about one week in four, with a 10 minute response time.The ability to mentor engineers and explain infrastructure work in terms of cost, risk and customer impact.
