Senior Software Engineer

The opportunity to join our team At Insignia Financial, we are continuing to scale and modernise our Wrap platform, and this is a 12 month contract with the potential to extend. This role plays a key part in driving both technical delivery and engineering capability. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead solution design within your team, deliver complex features, and mentor engineers while influencing how solutions are designed and delivered across the platform. Role In this role you will lead technical delivery within your team while contributing to broader engineering outcomes. Key focuses of this role include: Lead solution design and technical direction within your delivery teamDeliver high quality features and enhancements to the platformMentor and coach engineers to support their development and performanceContribute to system design and architecture decisionsPromote continuous improvement across engineering practicesWork with stakeholders to understand and solve complex problemsApply automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effortParticipate in agile ceremonies and contribute to delivery planningEnsure adherence to coding standards, quality, and release processesSupport testing, documentation, and ongoing system maintenance A taste of our tech stack Microfrontends built in JavaScript (ES6) using React and Redux.Kotlin, Java, GroovyDropwizard based microservices built in Kotlin, Java and GroovyData stored in MongoDB and MySQLOther tools to help get the job done include Elasticsearch, Kafka and RabbitMQContainerized deployments with DockerEver changing and constantly evolving What You Bring To This Role 5+ years development experienceStrong experience working in agile delivery environmentsAdvanced knowledge of engineering practices including TDD, pair programming, and systems thinkingStrong experience with Java and modern development languages such as Kotlin and ReactExperience designing and building scalable, maintainable systemsExposure to NoSQL and Mongo databasesStrong stakeholder engagement and problem solving capabilityExperience mentoring or leading engineers within a team A Little About The Team Software development at Insignia Financial is not like your typical enterprise company.
