Senior Product Designer / Design Engineer – AI & Digital Experiences Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | W-2 Employment The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a technology-focused client seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer or Design Engineer to contribute to innovative projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital product design and interactive experiences. This opportunity is ideal for a creative professional who combines outstanding visual design skills with a practical understanding of how digital products are built. Our client is particularly interested in individuals who can translate ambitious design concepts into engaging, functional prototypes while applying strong judgement across usability, visual identity and interaction design. You'll be working on projects that explore how emerging technologies can deliver more intuitive, visually compelling and engaging digital experiences across web applications, consumer products and interactive environments. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine high-quality user interface concepts for a variety of digital products, applications and interactive experiences.Create functional, visually polished prototypes using frontend technologies, modern design platforms and AI-assisted development tools.Evaluate interface designs against established usability principles, identifying improvements to visual hierarchy, navigation, accessibility and user interaction.Establish design guidelines, evaluation criteria and practical recommendations that support consistent, high-quality user experiences.Explore different visual approaches, animation techniques and interaction patterns across both professional and consumer-facing products.Provide detailed, constructive feedback on digital interfaces, including AI-generated designs and interactive prototypes.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, engineers and technical researchers, to test ideas and improve design outcomes.Help establish and maintain high standards of visual quality, functionality and overall user experience. What We're Looking For Our client is seeking candidates who can demonstrate: 7+ years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX design, design engineering, creative frontend development or a related discipline.A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design, interaction design and product thinking.Experience working within established digital product businesses, design-led technology companies or respected creative agencies.The ability to independently develop interactive prototypes using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Tailwind CSS.Familiarity with modern design and prototyping platforms, potentially including Figma, Framer, Cursor, Lovable, v0 or similar tools.A thorough understanding of user-centred design, responsive interfaces, usability principles and modern digital product development.Strong aesthetic judgement, with the ability to explain design decisions and assess the effectiveness of different approaches.Experience working across multiple design styles, product categories and technical requirements.Excellent written communication skills and the ability to provide clear, actionable design recommendations.Availability to commit to a full-time, 40-hour working week. Additional Skills That Would Be Valuable Although not essential, experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous: Motion design and interactive animation using tools such as GSAP, Framer Motion, Rive or Lottie.Advanced visual prototyping and creative frontend development.3D interfaces, WebGL or immersive digital experiences.User interface design for games or other highly interactive applications.Experience incorporating generative AI into design, prototyping or development workflows.Experience creating design systems, component libraries or structured interface evaluation frameworks.
