Job Description For a project in the Bremen area, Germany, MULTI is looking for an experienced (freelance) supervisor newbuild to strengthen the project team onsite. It concerns a temporary assignment until the end of 2026 with possible extension until February 2027 for 3-4 days per week. Two SWATH vessels are currently under construction. One vessel has already been launched and is moving towards the commissioning, testing and sea trial phase. As the project is entering a particularly intensive stage additional technical support is required on site. Tasks & Responsibilities You will work closely with the Technical Superintendent and Project Engineer. Your main focus will be the day-to-day technical follow-up of construction and outfitting activities. Your Responsibilities Will Include Carrying out regular inspections on board; Checking hull and structural work, piping systems, pipe supports, cable routing and supports; Comparing the actual installation on board with approved drawings, specifications and technical documentation; Identifying incomplete work, deviations and quality issues; Discussing findings directly with the shipyard and following up until they are resolved; Requesting missing technical information and documentation from the shipyard; Checking whether documentation corresponds with the actual situation on board; Reviewing and following up inspection, test and handover protocols; Supporting inspections and acceptance activities; Assisting the project team during commissioning, testing and sea trials; Reporting technical findings and progress to the Technical Superintendent and Project Engineer. You will not be expected to set up new project management processes. You will work within the existing project structure and reporting procedures. Profile Technical Knowledge & Soft Skills Experience in the newbuilding or commissioning of ships; Practical knowledge of piping, structural work, cabling and shipboard installations; The ability to read drawings and verify work on board; A keen eye for quality, deviations and incomplete work; A practical, independent and communicative approach; Good command of English; Dutch is an advantage.
