VP of Engineering Company: Swiftlink Technologies Inc. Employment Type: Full-time Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Position OverviewSwiftlink is seeking a VP of Engineering with extensive semiconductor industry experience, strong technical leadership, and proven engineering management capabilities. This executive will build and lead the engineering organization and oversee RF semiconductor products from design verification and prototype testing through product qualification, production readiness, and volume delivery. Working closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the VP of Engineering will translate the company’s technology roadmap and customer requirements into executable engineering plans. The role will oversee teams, resources, quality, cost, and schedules to ensure the successful delivery of key products and customer programs. Key Responsibilities· Lead engineering organizational planning, recruitment, talent development, performance management, budgeting, and resource allocation. · Establish engineering plans, key milestones, acceptance criteria, and delivery targets based on the product roadmap and customer requirements. · Oversee chip validation, applications development, test engineering, product engineering, package validation, and production introduction. · Establish and improve design reviews, pre-tapeout verification, bare-die and packaged-device testing, product release, and production approval processes. · Coordinate with R&D, sales, supply chain, quality, and project management teams to resolve issues affecting product performance, cost, schedules, and delivery. · Lead technical collaboration with foundries, packaging providers, test service providers, and other engineering partners. · Improve test coverage, product yield, reliability, and engineering efficiency. · Participate in key customer discussions to define technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery scope, and drive technical issues to resolution. · Establish engineering documentation, version management, change control, and intellectual property protection processes. · Report program progress, resource requirements, and key risks to senior management, and develop and implement corrective actions. · Travel required. · Required Qualifications· A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Communications Engineering, or a related discipline. · At least 20 years of professional experience in the semiconductor industry. · At least five years of experience managing engineering teams or R&D organizations. · A proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams through semiconductor product development, validation, and volume production delivery. · Strong knowledge of RFIC development, wafer fabrication, packaging, testing, reliability qualification, and production introduction. · Sound technical judgment and the ability to lead the resolution of complex chip, packaging, test, and system integration issues. · Demonstrated ability to make decisions and drive execution across concurrent programs under resource constraints and demanding delivery schedules. · Excellent leadership, customer communication, supplier coordination, and problem-solving skills. · Proficiency in English for technical discussions, management reporting, and documentation. Preferred Qualifications· Experience developing millimeter-wave, RF SOI, CMOS RFIC, or broadband transceiver products. · Experience with satellite communications, 5G/6G, PLLs, or phased-array products. · Experience scaling engineering teams, establishing engineering management systems, or bringing products into volume production. · Experience working with international teams and suppliers across multiple regions. · Ability to communicate professionally in Mandarin Chinese.
