Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Artificial Intelligence Engineer role based in Middelharnis. The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, build, and maintain AI models and systems, including pattern recognition pipelines, neural network architectures, and NLP-based solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching and prototyping AI approaches, implementing production-ready software, integrating AI services with existing systems, and optimizing performance, reliability, and security. The role involves collaborating with consultants and product teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, developing RAG and knowledge assistant solutions, and documenting architectures, models, and APIs. The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will also help evaluate new AI tools, contribute to best practices for AI governance, and support internal training and knowledge sharing. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices.Proficiency in Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, with experience training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning and deep learning models.Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), including modern transformer-based models, text classification, and information retrieval.Knowledge of AI infrastructure and tooling (e.g., Python, ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, version control, CI/CD, containerization).Experience integrating AI solutions with existing enterprise systems, APIs, and data sources.Ability to analyze complex business problems and translate them into clear technical requirements and AI solutions.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and willingness to work on-site with cross-functional teams in Middelharnis.Familiarity with AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices is a plus.Experience with RAG, vector databases, or knowledge assistants is beneficial.
