React Developer

Location: New York City, NY Experience: 2–8 years Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $140,000 – $220,000 per year + bonus/equity About the Role We are looking for a talented and experienced React Developer to join our engineering team in New York City. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications using React and modern frontend technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a product-oriented mindset and has a passion for creating fast, scalable, accessible, and intuitive user experiences. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to turn ideas into reliable, production-ready applications. Requirements Key Responsibilities Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React.js. Develop reusable, modular, and maintainable frontend components. Translate product requirements and UI/UX designs into responsive applications. Write clean, efficient, and well-tested JavaScript/TypeScript code. Work closely with designers and product managers to deliver polished user experiences. Integrate frontend applications with RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Implement state management using tools such as Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar technologies. Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility. Develop reusable component libraries and contribute to design-system initiatives. Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical application functionality. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve frontend bugs and performance issues. Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend engineering standards. Collaborate with backend and platform engineers on end-to-end technical solutions. Stay current with emerging React, JavaScript, and frontend development practices. Must-Have Skills 2–8 years of professional experience in frontend or React development. Strong hands-on experience with React.js. Excellent knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Strong understanding of React hooks, component architecture, and state management. Experience building responsive and production-grade web applications. Experience integrating REST APIs and/or GraphQL. Strong understanding of frontend performance optimization. Experience with Git and modern software development workflows. Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering. Experience with Redux, Zustand, React Query, or similar state-management tools. Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Styled Components, or similar frameworks. Experience building and maintaining design systems. Knowledge of Node.js and backend development. Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment. Experience with WebSockets or real-time applications. Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG. Experience working on AI-powered products, SaaS platforms, fintech applications, or other high-scale products.
