Candidates should be comfortable with a flexible work arrangement that balances in-office collaboration and remote work. Specific onsite days and remote days will be coordinated with the team and manager. Meet the Team The Splunk AI Canvas team builds AI-powered experiences that help customers investigate, understand, and act on data across Splunk products. Our work spans reusable React and TypeScript user-interface components, Splunk application integration, cloud services, secure identity flows, and AI-enabled workflows. We also design, build, and evolve agents and agentic experiences that reason over data, use tools, coordinate multi-step tasks, and help customers move from insight to action. We operate at the intersection of observability, security, search, analytics, and generative AI, collaborating closely with product, design, and partner engineering teams. We are a fast-moving, cross-functional engineering team where developers can influence product direction while delivering software used in real customer workflows. Your Impact Build and enhance production-quality features for Splunk AI Canvas, from technical design through release and ongoing operation. Develop responsive and accessible user experiences using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern web engineering practices while integrating with backend services and Splunk APIs. Design and implement AI agents and agentic workflows that use data, tools, and multi-step reasoning to simplify customer investigations and operational tasks. Create secure, reliable solutions that support authenticated, multi-tenant customer environments and AI-powered workflows. Test, debug, monitor, and improve software across the development lifecycle while collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers across Splunk and Cisco. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field plus 5 years of related experience; or Master’s degree plus 3 years of related experience.Experience developing and delivering production software using TypeScript or JavaScript and React or a comparable modern web framework.Experience designing or integrating RESTful or HTTP-based APIs in a cloud-based or distributed software product.Experience writing automated unit and integration tests and using source control and continuous integration tools in an agile software development environment.Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects in development or production environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing products for observability, cybersecurity, search, analytics, or data-platform users.Experience with Python, Java, or Go and with containerized or cloud-native applications.Knowledge of designing, building, testing, evaluating, or operating AI agents and agentic workflows.Experience creating agentic experiences using large language models, tool use, orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or related technologies.Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar, and the ability to use them effectively to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and documentation Cisco may use AI Tools to review candidate-provided details—such as skills, experience, location, and education—to determine how closely candidates match job criteria. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. Employees On Sales Plans Earn Performance-based Incentive Pay On Top Of Their Base Salary, Which Is Split Between Quota And Non-quota Components, Subject To The Applicable Cisco Plan. For Quota-based Incentive Pay, Cisco Typically Pays As Follows .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; andOnce performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid. The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below: New York City Metro Area $155,000.00 - $256,000.00 Non-Metro New York State & Washington State $138,100.00 - $227,900.00 For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined. Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
