Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Engineering (Core)Build and evolve an internal developer platform (IDP) based on GitOps and KubernetesDesign and deliver self-service infrastructure capabilities for product teamsTreat the platform as a product — developer experience is your primary metricContribute to IDP evolution using tools such as Crossplane, GitOps, and internal APIsMaintain and extend Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu)Deliver prototypes that evolve into production platform capabilitiesAI & Agentic EngineeringUse AI coding assistants daily (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent)Design agentic workflows to automate platform operations (debugging, remediation, documentation, scaffolding)Build AI-augmented tooling into the platform where it improves developer velocityDefine and raise the standard for responsible AI usage in engineeringCloud, AWS & NetworkingOperate AWS services (EKS, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch)Design and troubleshoot VPC architectures, routing, and multi-account networkingWork confidently with:CIDR planning, subnets, route tablesSecurity groups, NACLsTransit Gateway, VPC peeringPrivate connectivity via VPC endpointsDNS (Route53)Debug Kubernetes networking (Ingress, Services, CNI, Network Policies)GitOps & KubernetesOperate Argo CD as a core delivery platformOwn multi-environment deployment strategies using ApplicationSetsSupport progressive delivery (blue/green, canary where applicable)Deploy, troubleshoot, and instrument Kubernetes workloadsGitHub Platform OwnershipManage GitHub organization as a platform product:Organization structure, teams, repositories, templatesBranch protection, environments, review policiesBuild reusable GitHub Actions workflows for platform-wide consumptionOperate CI automation (PR checks, labeling, merge automation)Define Copilot governance and AI usage standards across repositoriesEnsure secure OIDC integration between GitHub and AWSArtifact ManagementOperate JFrog Artifactory (or equivalent systems at scale)Manage registries (containers, Helm, language packages)Define promotion flows across environmentsImplement artifact security scanning, retention, and signing policiesCollaboration & LeadershipWork cross-functionally with CloudOps, DevSecOps, FinOps, and SREMentor engineers and contribute to technical directionDrive adoption of platform standards across teamsLead delivery of prototypes and platform capabilitiesCommunicate clearly and influence across engineering domains
Required QualificationsMust-Have7+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, or closely related rolesStrong platform mindset (you build systems, not ticket queues)Deep AWS experience (EKS, IAM, networking, core services)Strong Kubernetes operational experienceHands-on Argo CD / GitOps experienceInfrastructure as Code: Terraform / OpenTofuCI/CD pipeline design experience (tool-agnostic)GitHub administration at scale (organizations, workflows, governance)Experience with artifact management systems (JFrog or equivalent)Strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)Proven ability to work across teams and deliver outcomesHighly DesirableExperience with IDP platforms (Backstage, Port, or similar)Crossplane for Kubernetes-based infrastructure managementArgo ecosystem depth (Rollouts, Workflows, Events)SRE practices: SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident responseDORA metrics and delivery performance trackingInternal developer tooling or platform productsAdditional Nice-to-HavesObservability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetryService mesh (Istio, Linkerd)FinOps and cloud cost optimizationPolicy-as-code (OPA, Kyverno)Certifications (CKA, AWS, Terraform)
