About the role
We are seeking a motivated OHLE Traction Linesperson to join the team on the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) based on the Gold Coast.
The Overhead Traction Linesperson will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE).
This role involves working at heights and with high voltage, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the traction power system in strict adherence to engineering designs, safety regulations, and industry standards.
The Linesperson plays a crucial role in maintaining operational continuity, preventing power disruptions, and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the railway network.
Key responsibilities include:
Install, erect, and dismantle OHLE components, including masts, portals, cantilevers, insulators, catenary wires, contact wires, droppers, and tensioning systems.
Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate and compliant installations.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with all technical specifications and standards Strictly adhere to all railway safety rules, electrical safety procedures, working at height regulations, and company QSHE policies.
Implement and follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, Isolation procedures, and other safe working practices.
Experience and capabilities
Completion of Certificate III in ESI - Rail Traction Relevant & Current Qld Electrical License National Drivers Licence – C Rail Industry experience of at least 3 years The Safe Operation of Hi Rail equipment within both Brownfield and Greenfield environments Work as part of an integrated rail systems team representing OHLE on all discipline related matters – Construction, Maintenance, Testing and commissioning Knowledge of the Installation, maintenance and inspection of Rail Traction Overhead Line Equipment Knowledge of the Installation, maintenance and inspection of Rail Traction bonding Understand and follow worksite Safe working Procedures Able to Mentor Subordinate employees on the Installation, maintenance and inspection of Rail Traction Overhead Line Equipment Expert-level hands-on skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of OLE/OCS components and systems.
Strong understanding of electrical principles and railway traction power.
