The opportunity Join the Transaction Strategy and Transformation team at EY, where you’ll help clients modernize legacy applications by embedding AI solutions. This role focuses on leveraging AI to assess legacy applications for cyber risks and to identify specific vulnerabilities, supporting clients in their digital transformation journeys. Your Key Responsibilities Lead or support application modernization, cloud transformation, platform engineering, and infrastructure-modernization initiatives.Assess legacy applications and their supporting infrastructure to identify technical debt, dependencies, security risks, operational constraints, and modernization opportunities.Develop modernization recommendations and roadmaps aligned with business objectives, technical requirements, risk tolerance, and expected value.Design and implement modern application architectures using cloud-native, containerized, API-led, and event-driven patterns.Modernize applications developed in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, .NET, Python, and related enterprise technologies.Design and automate infrastructure environments using infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and repeatable deployment patterns.Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security scanning, release processes, and software-delivery controls.Deploy and operate containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and related platform technologies.Work with infrastructure, identity, networking, storage, observability, backup, disaster-recovery, and operational-resilience requirements.Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate application discovery, documentation, code analysis, remediation, migration, testing, and modernization. Skills Skills and attributes for success One to five years of experience in application development, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, technology consulting, or related roles, including relevant co-op or internship experience.Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong understanding of software engineering, application architecture, infrastructure, and enterprise technology environments.Hands-on development experience with one or more of:JavaJavaScript or TypeScriptC# and .NETPythonExperience with GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code, source control, automated testing, and pull-request-based development.Experience with CI/CD technologies and DevSecOps practices.Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.Experience with Docker and familiarity with:KubernetesHelmManaged container platformsService-mesh or ingress technologiesFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code technologies, such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or comparable tools.Knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, integration patterns, and distributed systems.Understanding of application and infrastructure security, including:Identity and access managementNetwork segmentationSecrets and certificate managementSoftware composition analysisStatic and dynamic application-security testingVulnerability and patch managementFamiliarity with observability technologies and practices covering logs, metrics, traces, alerts, dashboards, and service-level objectives.Understanding of resilience, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and performance optimization.Ability to assess legacy applications and recommend appropriate approaches, including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, rebuilding, replacing, or retiring.Familiarity with AI-assisted application development and modernization tools.General understanding of how enterprise applications integrate with hosted or privately deployed AI services.Strong consulting, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.Ability to communicate technical architecture and modernization recommendations to both technical and business audiences.Experience coordinating small delivery teams of approximately two to five resources.Strategic mindset with a focus on sustainable transformation and measurable client value.Eligibility to obtain the security clearance required for applicable client engagements.
