Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Python Developer for a right to hire assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Rutherford, NJ. Responsibilities : Responsible for designing, building, and implementing scalable backend applications and microservices within the Technology team. Focuses on developing robust Python-based services, APIs, and data processing systems that support enterprise applications and analytics. Responsible for data extraction and analysis from structured and unstructured sources, while leveraging emerging technologies such as LLMs and GenAI to deliver efficient and innovative backend solutions to complex business problems. Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems using Python, with a focus on microservices and API-driven architectureBuild and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services for data ingestion, processing, and integrationDevelop data processing pipelines to handle structured and unstructured dataCollaborate with global Technology teams across multiple time zones in a hybrid environmentApply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and backend engineering best practicesDrive resolution of complex technical challenges through analysis of system flows and business processesEnsure solutions align with enterprise architecture, performance, and scalability requirementsEstablish and follow standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment in backend environmentsPerform data extraction, transformation, and analysis to support business use casesImplement unit testing and TDD to ensure reliability and maintainability of backend servicesContribute to microservices ecosystem, including service integration and inter-service communicationSupport the integration of LLMs and GenAI capabilities into backend systems and workflowsMentor junior developers and promote strong engineering and coding standardsIdentify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field5-7 years of experience developing backend systems and services using PythonStrong proficiency in Python and related libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas)Experience building REST APIs and working in microservices or service-oriented architecturesExperience with data processing, ETL pipelines, or data engineering conceptsFamiliarity with LLMs and GenAI technologiesUnderstanding of distributed systems and backend integration patternsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a global team Preferred Skills: Experience with distributed data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive)Knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL or other relational databases)Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift)Background in financial services, banking, or risk environmentsExperience with AI developer tools such as Copilot SGA is a technology and resource solutions provider driven to stand out.
