About the Company
A self-funded company of under ten people, building a mobile trading product for professional, high-volume traders in Digital Assets.
The founding team's previous product, a trading venue that is live today, took in millions in revenue in its first year.
There is no outside capital and no round in progress, so the roadmap is the team's own.
The product is pre-launch, and this hire completes the founding engineering team.
The Role
The mission
Own every part of the backend that is not money movement, and take it from zero to one.
You join as one of three founding engineers, in a flat team, working directly with the founder and the product lead.
The backend is the data backbone: market data and chain state in, live prices and positions out to every phone, through the bursts a market move brings.
Launch runs on third-party providers with backups.
What follows replaces them with the company's own indexing.
What is actually unsolved
Today the product reads prices, balances and positions through outside market data and chain providers.
For launch, those feeds have to become one reliable backend with failover, so a provider outage never reaches a trader's screen.
After launch the providers come out and in-house Solana and EVM indexing goes in, at the volumes a high-frequency audience generates.
Nobody has drawn this architecture yet.
The path from the first provider integration to the in-house indexer is this role's to design.
Responsibilities
Build one backend over third-party market data and chain providers, with failover, so launch never waits on a single vendor.Design and ship the in-house Solana and EVM indexing that replaces those providers after launch.Build the WebSocket fanout that streams live prices and positions to every user and holds through traffic spikes.Design data serving and caching on Postgres and AWS or GCP that stays fast and cost-efficient under load.Lead platform feature development and architecture with the product lead and the founder.
Requirements
Built and owned a backend platform at a brokerage, wallet or mobile trading app in the last three years, hands-on, in production.Shipped and ran production services in Rust or Go.Built or ran an on-chain indexer, Solana or EVM, in production.Ran WebSocket fanout at scale through traffic spikes.Served live data to a consumer-scale user base on Postgres and AWS or GCP, with performance numbers you can quote.
Nice to Have
A high-usage consumer app or trading app in your record.Time at an exchange, at a trading firm, or building trading bots. Both Solana and EVM, rather than one.
Culture
Three engineers, a product lead and the founder, in one flat team, building product features and their implementation together.
Ownership is high and the pace is fast, and the roadmap belongs to the team because nobody outside funds it.
The honest part: the product is pre-launch, there is nobody beneath you to hand work to, and the scope ends where money movement begins, which someone else owns.
