About the job Python Developer London 12 Month Contract Outside IR35 About the role We’re working with a major global financial services organisation looking for a Senior Python Engineer to help build a new generation of AI-enabled applications. This is first and foremost a hands-on engineering role. You’ll be writing production Python and building robust software, while working with modern AI technologies including LLMs, agentic AI and machine learning. The initial work will use historical customer behaviour and market data to build applications that help front-office teams make better trading decisions. What you’ll be doing Build production-grade applications in PythonDevelop and integrate AI and machine learning capabilitiesWork with LLMs, agentic AI and recommendation systemsBuild clean, testable and maintainable softwareWork with business stakeholders to turn requirements into working solutionsHelp ensure AI solutions are properly tested, evaluated and controlled before going into productionWork across the full lifecycle from design and development through to deployment and production support What they’re looking for Strong commercial Python engineering experienceExcellent software engineering fundamentalsExperience building and supporting production systemsGood understanding of testing, clean code and software designCommercial AI/ML experience or strong hands-on exposure to modern AI technologiesComfortable working with LLMs and AI-assisted development toolsExperience within financial services or another regulated environment would be beneficial You do not need to be a career AI Engineer. They are particularly interested in strong Python engineers who have started working with AI and want to build deeper experience delivering AI applications into production.
