Systems Engineer III
Client: Fortune 500 Telecom Client
Location: Englewood, CO — 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour W2
Contract: Long-term W2 contract
Role Overview
Our Fortune 500 telecom client is seeking a Systems Engineer III to join an enterprise
applications and systems engineering team supporting a large lab environment.
This position is best suited for a proactive, hands-on engineer who can independently drive
projects while also supporting day-to-day operational needs.
The role is approximately a 50/50 split between project work and support and requires strong
Linux administration, DNS knowledge, and scripting/automation experience.
Team & Environment
• Team currently consists of 6
• Team manages 14 enterprise-level third-party applications
• Internal customer groups range from approximately 30 engineers to 800+ users
• Team supports applications and infrastructure used broadly across the lab environment
• Highly cross-functional environment working with systems, networking, applications,
vendors, and other engineering teams
Key Responsibilities
• Perform day-to-day Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, configuration,
patching, monitoring, and maintenance
• Support and troubleshoot DNS-related systems and issues
• Develop and improve automation and scripting, with Python preferred
• Manage approximately a 50/50 mix of project work and operational support
• Troubleshoot access issues, failed automation, application problems, and infrastructurerelated
incidents
• Support vendor feature enablement and application changes
• Create scripts for bulk or repetitive operational tasks
• Independently drive assigned projects and meet deadlines
• Proactively follow up on dependencies and communicate project status
• Document procedures, configurations, runbooks, and operational processes
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and third-party vendors
Must-Have Qualifications
• Hands-on Linux systems administration experience
• Professional DNS experience and a solid understanding of DNS fundamentals and
troubleshooting
• Experience with automation and scripting
• Python strongly preferred, although other scripting languages may be considered
• Strong systems and application troubleshooting skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and take ownership of project work
• Proactive communication style and strong sense of urgency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Profile
• Systems Engineer III / senior-level experience preferred
• Experience independently leading projects or owning technical deliverables
• Experience managing multiple deadlines and dependencies
• Background in a large corporate, lab, data center, or enterprise infrastructure environment
is helpful but not required
• Customer-facing or cross-functional experience demonstrating strong communication
and urgency
• Experience supporting enterprise applications
• Experience with access management, automation, or infrastructure tools

This person
proactively seeks updates, manages project dependencies, communicates risks, and takes
ownership of getting work completed on time.
Technical ability is important, but the team is equally focused on finding someone who
demonstrates urgency, accountability, initiative, and project ownership.
Interview Process
Round 1:
15-minute video interview with the hiring manager
Round 2:
1-hour onsite technical interview with two engineers
Technical discussions will focus primarily on:
• Linux
• DNS
• Python / scripting / automation
• Systems troubleshooting
• Project ownership and problem-solving
Schedule & Contract
• 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
• Englewood, Colorado (14810 Grasslands Drive, Englewood, CO 80112)
• $40–$50/hour W2
• Long-term ongoing W2 contract
• Potential long-term path to full-time employment, although conversion is not expected in
the near term
