Mechanical Design Engineer IV Location: Greenville, SC Work Arrangement: Onsite Contract: 12 Months Position Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer IV to support a global engineering and manufacturing organization. This role will provide mechanical design and technical support for complex industrial hardware, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams. The engineer will evaluate hardware deviations, support manufacturing and supplier issues, improve product designs, and drive engineering changes to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and production performance. Key Responsibilities Provide mechanical engineering support for complex manufactured components and assemblies.Analyze and disposition hardware deviations using engineering assessments and analytical tools.Develop and revise engineering drawings to improve manufacturability and product performance.Support qualification of new manufacturing processes and suppliers.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.Review engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T requirements, and design documentation.Support redesign, cost-reduction, quality-improvement, and process-improvement initiatives.Perform technical reviews and assess component, assembly, and system-level risks.Apply engineering standards and design practices to ensure quality and accuracy.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, non-conformances, and manufacturing issues.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant engineering experience.Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing processes.Understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, and coatings.Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global environment.Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.Preferred Qualifications Experience with precision forging, investment casting, machining, EDM, coatings, shot peening, inspection, or fixturing.Experience with non-conformance, deviation disposition, or MRB activities.Experience with gas turbines, turbomachinery, rotating machinery, or flow-path components.Experience with blades, vanes, stators, heat shields, or similar mechanical hardware.Familiarity with ANSYS, Siemens NX, or other engineering analysis/CAD tools.Experience supporting supplier qualification or manufacturing process changes.Experience with design for manufacturability and engineering change processes.
