Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations What You'll Do Lead supplier industrialisation activities from prototype through serial production, ensuring designs are manufacturable, repeatable and ready to scaleAssess and optimise manufacturing methods including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, plastics manufacturing, additive manufacturing and mechanical assemblyDrive design-for-manufacture, design-for-assembly and value-engineering initiatives to improve cost, lead time, quality and production robustnessEvaluate supplier capability, capacity and manufacturing resilience to support long-term production scalabilityChallenge manufacturing routes, materials, tolerances, specifications and tooling concepts to ensure commercially viable and scalable production solutionsSupport supplier qualification, capability assessments, first article inspections, process validation and production ramp-up activitiesDrive supplier performance improvements through industrialisation, corrective actions, manufacturing process optimisation and capability developmentUse manufacturing, quality, delivery and cost data to identify risks, prioritise improvement activities and support supplier development decisionsWork across Engineering, Production, Quality and Procurement to resolve manufacturing constraints, improve supplier performance and enable successful production ramp-upTranslate manufacturing evidence, supplier capability assessments and industrialisation plans into clear technical recommendations Requirements Engineering degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline5+ years' experience within manufacturing, production engineering, supplier industrialisation or a similar environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes including{{:}}CNC machiningSheet metal fabrication and formingWelding and fabricated assembliesAdditive manufacturingMechanical assemblyExperience industrialising products from prototype through serial productionStrong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, value engineering and design-for-manufacture principlesAbility to assess supplier capability, capacity, process maturity and production scalabilityStrong drawing interpretation, GD&T and tolerance analysis skillsExperience supporting supplier qualification, first article inspection, process validation and production ramp-up activitiesStrong problem-solving skills and a hands-on engineering mindsetFluent English as the working language Nice to Have Experience with plastics manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, thermoforming or similarExperience with composite manufacturing technologies and toolingExperience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industriesExperience industrialising electro-mechanical products and assemblies Who You Are You are a practical mechanical manufacturing engineer who understands how designs become repeatable parts on the shop floor. You are comfortable walking through a supplier's process, questioning the proposed manufacturing route and explaining what must change before production can scale. You combine technical depth with decisive execution. You bring manufacturing evidence into decisions, close actions with suppliers and strengthen the SCE function without creating overlap with sourcing strategy or commercial ownership.
