We’re looking for a WordPress developer who believes websites should work well for everyone.

Calvin Design is growing our team, and we’re looking for an experienced WordPress Developer with accessibility expertise and certification to collaborate with us on client projects.
We work with nonprofits, small businesses, museums, and other organizations to create thoughtful, accessible digital experiences.
We’re looking for someone who can help us make sure accessibility is built into our websites from the very beginning—not something we try to fix at the end.
This is a project-based opportunity with the potential for ongoing work as new projects come our way.
We’re hoping to find someone we can build a long-term working relationship with and bring into projects where their expertise is needed.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work closely with our design and project management team to:
Build accessible custom WordPress themesCreate accessible custom Gutenberg/WordPress blocksDevelop clean, semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHPAudit website designs for accessibility before they go into developmentConduct accessibility audits of existing client websitesIdentify and remediate WCAG issuesTest websites using both automated tools and manual testingAccessibility check and create ACRs for products and services.
Familiar with conducting audits using VPAT format for ACRs.Help our designers make accessibility-conscious decisions during the design processTalk with our team and clients about accessibility in a way that is easy to understand
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
Has solid WordPress development experienceKnows their way around HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHPHas experience building custom themes and Gutenberg blocksHas a strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2Holds an accessibility certification such as IAAP CPACC, WAS, or a similar credentialIs comfortable conducting accessibility audits and remediating issuesHas experience testing with keyboards and screen readersNotices the little things and genuinely cares about creating inclusive experiencesCan collaborate comfortably with designers and non-technical teammatesIs excited to share their knowledge and help make our work better
