What You'll Do We're looking for an Intermediate or Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Mining based in Melbourne. Candidates located in Brisbane or Sydney will also be considered. The Role Responsibilities Include Actively promote and lead a culture of zero harm and safety focus within the Worley Consulting business across your sphere of influence.Embrace teamwork as the key to delivery success.Support the growth of our Geosciences business through sound project delivery and effective client engagement.Actively participate in business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities and clients, client engagement, and leading or supporting proposal preparation, submission and conversion.Contribute to and support the development and implementation of our Geosciences strategy and tactical framework.Collaborate with other parts of the Worley business, both locally and globally, to support future opportunities.Establish and maintain strong relationships with contractors, clients and other Worley personnel.Support and manage opportunities and projects through strong technical capability and effective project management while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, engineering and business processes.Work across the following elements of the geotechnical project lifecycle:Strategy development, optioneering and concept geotechnical design.Planning, execution, supervision and management of field geotechnical investigations for open pit and underground mining projects and operations.Use of numerical modelling applications including Rocscience software, FLAC3D and Map3D.Geotechnical interpretation and design using industry-recognised methodologies and tools. What You'll Have Relevant experience in mining operations and/or consulting.Tertiary qualifications in geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics or a related discipline. Recent publication history is desirable.Registration with an appropriate professional institution.The potential to contribute to business development activities, including expanding and managing client relationships and supporting work-winning initiatives.Experience in the study, design and operation of open pit and underground mines, including mine closure. Experience across metalliferous mining and a range of mining methods is highly regarded.Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.Experience developing geotechnical models and inputs, including rock mass and structural characterisation, domaining and material property assessment. Experience with Bentley Leapfrog is advantageous.Experience using numerical modelling applications such as Rocscience software, Map3D and FLAC3D.Demonstrated experience preparing geotechnical reports, desktop assessments, proposals, estimates, specifications, scopes of work and bills of quantities.Demonstrated experience, or potential, to support site construction activities.An interest in and capability for mentoring junior staff.A willingness to travel domestically and internationally to project sites as required.Full working rights in Australia and an unrestricted Australian driver's licence.
