About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced .NET Developer to join our engineering team in New York City.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable applications and backend services using the Microsoft .NET technology stack.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, SQL Server, and cloud technologies.
You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, architects, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to build secure, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET.
Build robust backend services and RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core.
Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable code following modern software engineering practices.
Work with SQL Server and relational databases to design schemas, queries, stored procedures, and data-access layers.
Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed applications.
Integrate applications with internal and external APIs and third-party services.
Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application reliability.
Identify and troubleshoot performance, reliability, and production issues.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions.
Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver end-to-end product functionality.
Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD, automated deployments, and production releases.
Implement application security, authentication, authorization, and data-protection best practices.
Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and development processes.
Must-Have Skills
2–8 years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in C# and .NET / .NET Core.
Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core and Web API development.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
Experience with SQL Server, database design, and SQL query optimization.
Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
Understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture.
Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, or OpenID Connect.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Azure or AWS cloud services.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Entity Framework Core and Dapper.
Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Experience with React, Angular, or other modern frontend technologies.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous programming.
Experience with observability tools such as Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
Experience working in fintech, SaaS, healthcare, enterprise technology, or other high-scale environments.
