Jr. Mobile Application Developer (KMP)

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance the Ambition Guru mobile apps using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).Build reusable, maintainable shared business logic for Android and iOS.Work closely with Senior Mobile Developers, Backend Developers, QA, UI/UX, Content, and Product teams.Integrate REST APIs and third-party services (payments, analytics, messaging, etc.).Implement UI features based on approved UI/UX designs.Debug and resolve application issues, crashes, and performance problems.Write clean, readable, reusable, and maintainable code.Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards.Perform unit testing and support QA during functional and regression testing.Analyze and fix bugs reported from QA, UAT, and production.Work with Git and follow the team's branching and code-review practices.Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.Maintain technical documentation for implemented features when required.Continuously learn and adopt best practices in KMP and mobile development. Required Skills & Qualifications1–2 years of professional experience in mobile application development.Strong understanding of Kotlin.Practical experience with Android application development.Basic to intermediate understanding of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).Understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM/Clean Architecture.Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, and API integration.Understanding of Coroutines and Kotlin Flow.Familiarity with Jetpack Compose is preferred.Understanding of local data storage such as SQLite/Room is an advantage.Basic understanding of mobile application lifecycle and state management.Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.Understanding of debugging and troubleshooting mobile applications.Good understanding of object-oriented and basic software design principles. Good to HaveExperience working on a Kotlin Multiplatform production application.Basic knowledge of iOS/Swift and Xcode.Experience with Compose Multiplatform.Experience with Ktor or other networking libraries.Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Koin/Hilt.Familiarity with Firebase services such as Crashlytics, Analytics, and Push Notifications.Experience with video/audio playback (e.g., ExoPlayer/Media3, AVPlayer).Experience integrating payment gateways or third-party SDKs (e.g., eSewa, Khalti).Experience with CI/CD for mobile applications.Understanding of app performance optimization.
