Java Backend Developer

Back-End Developer (Java) London / Ipswich - Hybrid (2-3 Days a Week In Office) Permanent £85k - £100k + Bonus We're working with an innovative financial technology business building blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) solutions for financial services. They're looking for a Back End Developer with strong Java experience to join the team and help build secure, scalable backend systems supporting their DLT platforms. The Role You'll be responsible for: Developing backend services and APIs using JavaBuilding and integrating REST APIs and microservicesWorking with architects on blockchain/DLT integrationsDesigning databases, migrations and optimising queriesBuilding scalable, secure and high-performance systemsWorking with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CDTroubleshooting complex backend and integration issuesProducing clear technical documentationCollaborating with engineering, architecture and product teamsWhat We're Looking For Strong commercial Java backend development experienceSolid experience with REST APIs and microservicesDatabase development and query optimisation experienceUnderstanding of backend securityHands-on experience with Docker and KubernetesStrong problem-solving and communication skillsDesirable Experience with any of the following would be a bonus: Blockchain / DLT - particularly Hyperledger, Corda or EthereumWeb3j or other blockchain integration librariesFinancial services / capital marketsKafka or RabbitMQCamunda or ActivitiEvent-driven architectures and DevOps practicesA great opportunity for a Java backend engineer looking to work on complex distributed systems and gain exposure to real-world DLT applications within financial services.
