Salesforce Developer / Automation Test Engineer Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 Location: Fully Remote Package: Full corporate benefits package Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Salesforce Developer / Automation Test Engineer to join an exciting SaaS organisation. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on Salesforce development with automation testing, with responsibility for building, testing and maintaining a business-critical Salesforce platform. You will work across both development and quality engineering, delivering new functionality while improving automated test coverage, regression testing and overall platform reliability. This would suit someone with strong Salesforce development experience across Apex, Lightning Web Components and OmniStudio who also has solid hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts. Role and Responsibilities Develop, configure and maintain Salesforce functionality across a business-critical platformBuild solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, JavaScript and OmniStudioDesign, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for Salesforce applicationsDeliver automated functional, integration and regression testing to improve test coverage and reduce manual testingWork closely with developers, product and wider technology teams to embed testing throughout the development lifecycleTranslate business requirements into technical solutions, user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenariosSupport integrations between Salesforce and wider enterprise applications and servicesInvestigate defects, identify root causes and support resolution across Salesforce applications, integrations and environmentsContribute to technical design, code reviews, release readiness and deployment activitiesSupport Salesforce environments, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within deployment processesWork collaboratively within an Agile team, contributing to sprint planning, reviews and continuous improvement Skills and Experience Strong commercial Salesforce development experienceHands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows and SOQLExperience with Salesforce OmniStudio, including OmniScriptsStrong automation testing experience within Salesforce or similar enterprise application environmentsExperience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworksGood functional, integration and regression testing experienceStrong understanding of software testing principles, test strategy and defect managementGood knowledge of Salesforce data, security, automation and integration principlesExperience supporting Salesforce solutions across multiple environmentsExperience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API and CI/CD pipelinesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience working within Agile development teamsExperience within a regulated, healthcare, life sciences or clinical trials environment would be advantageous Desirable Experience with Salesforce Agentforce or other Salesforce AI capabilitiesFamiliarity with Heroku-hosted applications and Salesforce integration servicesExperience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Provar or similarExperience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude CodeRelevant Salesforce certifications including Platform Developer, OmniStudio Developer, Administrator or Platform App Builder
