JOB TITLE: Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI-Assisted Development) DEPARTMENT: Digital Product LOCATION: Stamford Bridge, London CONTRACT: Permanent, Full Time JOB FUNCTION: Deliver the Club's digital product roadmap by building world-class digital experiences for supporters. To avoid missing out, please submit your application at your earliest convenience. About the Role: We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build and deliver digital features end-to-end. We are looking for someone with a Strong product engineering mindset, with experience working directly with Product Managers and Designers to discover, prototype, test and deliver fan-facing digital experiences. Able to use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards of quality, security, accessibility and performance. You'll own the journey: technical approach, implementation, testing, accessibility, performance and security. AI accelerates the work; you remain accountable for it. Your code is handed to our external development partner for review and release, so the bar is production quality from day one. This is a role for a full stack developer who enjoys ownership, product thinking and building well — not just shipping fast. You'll help us experiment quickly, validate ideas with real users and turn successful concepts into production-ready experiences. What you'll do: Partner with Product Managers to turn requirements into technical solutions and delivery plansRapidly prototype ideas using AI-assisted tooling to validate solutions before committing to production developmentBuild responsive, accessible, production-ready web experiences for our app, desktop, mobile browsers and web views, on top of our design systemDesign and integrate with Contentful and contribute to content model design where neededBuild and consume APIs, and integrate third-party servicesUse AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while critically validating all AI-generated outputsWrite automated tests and instrument features for analytics and experimentationPrepare code for review by our external development partner and collaborate through the release process, addressing feedback and supporting deploymentContribute to our engineering standards, reusable components and ways of working What you'll bring Essential Strong commercial experience shipping modern web and app applications end-to-endExcellent TypeScript and React. Familiarity with Next.js or similar modern React frameworks is a plusExperience with React NativeExperience with headless CMS platforms (Contentful preferred) and API integrationSolid grasp of software architecture, testing, accessibility, security and performanceConfident using modern AI-assisted software development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or equivalent) as part of daily delivery, with the judgement to validate their output.Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery, automate repetitive tasks, improve code quality and rapidly validate concepts. Comfortable working within design systems and shared component librariesProven ability to balance technical excellence, user experience and business outcomes when making implementation decisions. Git, CI/CD and collaborative code review workflows Desirable Experience designing Contentful content modelsExperience interpreting designs from Figma and rapidly converting them into working prototypesExperience collaborating directly with Product Managers and Designers in discovery and validation activitiesCloud experience (AWS, Azure)Familiarity with ASP.NET Core, C# or similar enterprise web backendsWorking alongside external development or engineering partnersAutomated testing frameworks (unit, integration, E2E, visual regression)Understanding of security, privacy and responsible use of AI tools when working with proprietary code, supporter data and confidential informationAnalytics/experimentation toolingAgile product delivery About you You take ownership from idea to production and enjoy the product conversation as much as the code.
