Your mission:As a DevOps Architect, you will be the visionary lead steering our enterprise digital transformation journey.
You will design the global migration strategy from our current Linux-hosted Atlassian Suite (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence) to a modern, OpenSource collaboration platform ecosystem (Zammad, OpenProject, and XWiki).
Your mission is to guarantee a seamless transition, a zero-downtime migration framework, and a future-proof, containerized architecture.
Operating at the core of our infrastructure, you will design the overarching high-availability (HA) infrastructure, data migration frameworks, and secure integration patterns.
You will define the blueprints for running this application suite securely across our Red Hat OpenShift enterprise environments, establishing cloud-native patterns for shared storage, centralized authentication (IAM), and comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in designing our enterprise API and automation capabilities.
By leveraging API Gateway technologies and workflow orchestration engines, you will ensure seamless, highly resilient, and scalable data workflows across all platforms.
You will establish the technical governance, CI/CD standards, and GitOps blueprints that will enable the DevOps engineering team to build and maintain a highly secure, reliable, and scalable modern workplace.
Technical Skills• OpenSource Enterprise Application Architecture: Deep architectural knowledge of scalable multi-tier stacks, specifically Zammad (Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch), OpenProject (Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Apache Solr), and XWiki (Java/Tomcat, PostgreSQL, Solr).
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deep understanding of enterprise cloud-native architecture principles.
Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Infrastructure as Code & GitOps Design: Expertise in creating enterprise reference architectures using Terraform and Ansible (Cycloid experience is a plus), GitLab CI/CD or n8n.
Mastery of GitOps principles and tooling, specifically ArgoCD.
• Enterprise Identity & Access Governance: Proven experience integrating disparate systems into unified corporate Identity Providers (IdP) using secure OIDC / SAML SSO and automated user provisioning (SCIM).
• Integration & Traffic Management: Deep hands-on expertise with enterprise API Gateway platforms and workflow/orchestration platforms.
• Database & Search Strategy: Advanced capabilities in architectural planning for shared or isolated multi-node PostgreSQL database clusters (replication, connection pooling via pg_bouncer) and distributed search clusters (Elasticsearch / Solr).
• System & Networking: Linux administration, ingress controllers, persistent storage management in K8s.
• Legacy Platforms: Good knowledge of Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence (Linux hosted).
• Enterprise Observability & AIOps: Experience designing end-to-end monitoring and root cause analysis blueprints using Dynatrace, creating custom dashboards, service-level objectives (SLOs), and automated alerting for the entire platform suite.
Key Activities & Responsibilities• Reference Architecture Blueprinting: Design and document the end-to-end cloud infrastructure, scalability frameworks, and shared storage strategy for Zammad, OpenProject, and XWiki native to OpenShift.
• Migration Architecture: Map out and orchestrate the legacy data migration pathways from Jira Service Management to Zammad and legacy document hubs to XWiki with zero data loss.
• OpenShift Architecture: Design, secure, and optimize the deployment of Zammad, OpenProject, and XWiki on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Data & Workflow Mapping: Map existing Atlassian workflows, custom fields, and permissions to their Open Source equivalents.
• Service Design & Integration Governance: Lead service design workshops to build cross-cutting, reusable automation modules (via n8n/Gateways) that allow Zammad, OpenProject, and XWiki to interact natively.
• Security & Compliance Enforcement: Partner with security teams to enforce OpenShift network policies, data-at-rest encryption, robust network perimeters, and granular RBAC across the entire ecosystem.
• Technical Governance: Establish CI/CD standards, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans for the new OpenSource platforms.
• Technology Stewardship: Evaluate emerging cloud-native, DevOps, and AIOps trends to continually modernize the enterprise platform ecosystem.
• Coaching & Mentoring: Guide the DevOps engineering team in implementing the migration pipelines and structural changes.
QualificationsQualifications/Experience• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud/DevOps infrastructure, with a proven track record as an Architect delivering complex enterprise migrations in OpenShift environments.
