A results-oriented DevOps and infrastructure engineer is sought to extend a firmware validation platform covering the full testing lifecycle. You will own CI/CD, infrastructure, tooling, dashboards, static analysis, unit and simulator-based testing, coverage, and hardware-in-the-loop validation of complex embedded systems.
Highlights
Hands-on DevOps and infrastructure opportunity supporting an advanced firmware validation platform. The role offers end-to-end ownership of CI/CD and test infrastructure spanning static analysis, unit testing, simulation, coverage, dashboards, and hardware-in-the-loop silicon testing.

Summary
At Apple, we work every single day to craft products that enrich people’s lives.
Do you love working on challenges that no one has solved yet? Do you like changing the game? We have an opportunity for a results-oriented and extraordinarily hardworking DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer.
As a member of our multifaceted group, you will have the outstanding and great opportunity to craft upcoming products that will delight and encourage millions of Apple’s customers every single day.
Description
We're looking for a DevOps-minded engineer to contribute and grow the AMS firmware validation platform — the CI/CD, infrastructure, and tooling that builds, tests, and validates Mixed-Signal IP firmware from static analysis all the way through hardware-in-the-loop silicon test.
Responsibilities
Own and extend the CI/CD platform end-to-end — from static analysis and unit tests through simulator-based testing, coverage, and hardware-in-the-loop silicon testing — plus the dashboards and reporting that make results actionable.Operate and harden the self-hosted runner fleet and toolchains — SDK/compiler/simulator versioning and the packaging and release flow that ships the platform to runners.Onboard new silicon platforms into CI/CD: extend configs, build/test matrices, and the low-level hardware integration that makes a new chip testable with minimal one-off effort.Grow the validation lab as a product — make changes to test stations safe, reviewable, and automated instead of manual, one-off edits.Drive deep, cross-stack triage and root-cause across the firmware toolchain, simulators, runner OS/SDK regressions, and silicon test, and build the triage tooling that speeds diagnosis for the whole team.Develop and maintain firmware test cases and tooling on development boards and shipping products — including hands-on setup of test-station hardware (connecting boards and devices, cabling, and bring-up) — partnering with firmware and QA teams to improve test coverage and release quality.
Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in a technical discipline with extensive years of relevant experience.DevOps/infrastructure background: designing and owning CI/CD pipelines and shared engineering infrastructure, with an automation-first mindset.Strong Python for CLI tooling, orchestration, and system integrations against APIs, webhooks, and service accounts.Hands-on experience operating self-hosted CI/CD (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar): pipeline design, runner administration, job orchestration, and debugging failures at the infrastructure levelProficiency with Git and the ability to integrate disparate build, test, and reporting services into one coherent pipeline.Strong written and verbal communication; able to drive cross-team triage and keep stakeholders aligned.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the hardware/firmware development lifecycle; exposure to SoC bring-up or silicon test.Comfortable working hands-on in a hardware lab — setting up boards and test stations and keeping them running.Familiarity with lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.) is a plus; day-to-day signal-level debugging and board probing are not a core part of this role.Experience with additional version-control systems (e.g., Perforce) or server-hosted Git platformsC programming or firmware development experience.Packaging and versioning tools (pip/conda, npm, or equivalent) and managing dependency/release flowsAI-assisted development and tooling (LLM agents, MCP-style integrations) for code review, triage, and automation.Containerization / service-deployment experience (Docker, etc.).Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
