Summary
✨ AI‑Generated
A senior engineering role focused on building trustworthy AI systems for complex technical workflows. You will own model evaluation, create high-quality datasets and regression tests, develop retrieval and orchestration capabilities, and establish scalable foundations for reliable AI behavior in production.
Highlights
Work on next-generation AI systems at the core of engineering workflows, with ownership of evaluation, quality measurement, retrieval, orchestration, and reliable production AI infrastructure.
Description
Engineering software is at a structural turning point.
For decades, CAD systems have digitized drawing.
At WSCAD, we are building the next paradigm: AI-native engineering systems, where AI becomes part of the core operating layer of engineering workflows.
We are looking for a Senior AI Systems Engineer to help build and validate this next-generation platform.
You will work on LLM production pipelines, evaluation, retrieval, orchestration, and knowledge graphs — turning engineering intent into structured, checkable, and reliable system behavior.
At WSCAD, AI is not a side project or an isolated feature.
This role is about making AI systems work in production: defining where models should and should not make decisions, measuring their quality against real data, and building the technical foundations that make their behavior scalable, reproducible, and trustworthy.
What Awaits You – Your Responsibilities
Own evaluation.
Build gold datasets, metrics, and regression tests for quality, stability, and cost.
Measure whether model or prompt changes improve or worsen results.Design the LLM boundary.
Define tool contracts, structured outputs, context, uncertainty handling, and refusal paths.Improve retrieval at scale.
Strengthen grounding, pattern matching, and duplicate detection, and measure the impact.Consolidate orchestration.
Improve routing, re-execution, and bounded agent workflows.Turn expert knowledge into graph knowledge.
Work with electrical engineers to formalize reusable circuit patterns.Be a technical sparring partner.
Challenge architectural decisions with evidence and help shape the technical direction.
What We Expect – Your Qualifications
Experience shipping and operating a production LLM system, including measurable evaluation using gold data, precision/recall or equivalent metrics, stability, and cost.Strong backend engineering skills.
Experience with C#/.NET is helpful but not required.Experience with graphs, rich engineering schemas, or complex domain models.Strong understanding of the difference between prompts, specifications, and measurable system behavior.Ability to work across software engineering, electrical engineering, and product.Professional proficiency in English and German.
Nice To Have
Experience with RDF, SPARQL, SHACL, SKOS, named graphs, or triple stores.Experience with embeddings, hybrid retrieval, and reranking.Experience with LLM observability, tracing, and cost monitoring.Familiarity with industrial information models such as IEC 81346, ECLASS, AAS, AutomationML, or ISO 15926.Experience with CAD, CAE, PLM, automation, or digital twins.Experience with agent frameworks.
