We're looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join the platform team, help design and scale our system, infrastructure and dev tools.
Salary range- 6000-8000 Euros Monthly
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do
Take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle—from ideation and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical strategy and platform evolution.Contribute to how we shift towards agentic software development lifecycle.Support Balance’s rapid business growth.Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data teams, fellow engineers and other stakeholders.Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.

What We're Looking For
You’re curious about and actively experimenting with how AI changes Software Development Lifecycle.7+ years of experience building production-grade backend applications.Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.Significant practical experience building distributed systems.Hands-on experience with large-scale production databases, including PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and database performance tuning.Experience working with AWS cloud services.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or serverless architectures.Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Solid understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, and design patterns.Experience working in Agile development environments.Frontend experience with React or similar frameworks is an advantage.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
