Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Job title: Senior QA Engineer Location: Kathmandu, Nepal (Hybrid: Mondays Onsite for Team Engagement) Working Hours: 5:45 PM – 1:45 AM NPT (8 hours/day, Mon–Fri) Overview: MandaapX is a mission-driven and forward-thinking IT consulting and services firm specializing in Cloud, Salesforce, Engineering, and AI solutions. We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own functional, data, API, automation, and regression testing for the product as it moves through active development toward full-scale launch. You will write test plans, execute automated and manual test cases across sandbox, non-prod, and production, perform API testing using Postman, and build automated test suites using Playwright. You will also validate that generated compliance documents are accurate, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business and compliance stakeholders, and leverage AI-driven tools to speed up test case generation and coverage. Key Responsibilities Write, maintain, and execute detailed test plans and structured test cases covering core application workflows, automated document/report generation, dashboards, and platform data management.Build, maintain, and run automated UI and end-to-end test scripts using Playwright.Perform robust API testing, validation, and automated collection execution using Postman.Leverage AI tools and Generative AI to accelerate writing test cases, automate test execution, generate synthetic test data, and improve test coverage across complex workflows.Validate data accuracy across environments, verifying that data syncs correctly between multi-database source systems (SQL, cloud databases, CRM tools) and catching discrepancies (missing records, blank fields, mismatched counts) before they reach stakeholders.Run functional, regression, and smoke testing ahead of every release cycle across sandbox, non-prod, and production environments.Plan and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with internal stakeholders, consolidating feedback into prioritized, actionable technical issues.File, triage, and track defects in Jira, providing clear reproduction steps and collaborating directly with internal and vendor engineering teams to verify fixes.Maintain a single source of truth for test coverage and outstanding issues, replacing ad hoc spreadsheets with a consistent tracking system.Test compliance-sensitive outputs, exports, and generated files to ensure strict accuracy against business and regulatory specifications.Support code-freeze and release-day processes by verifying environment stability, data resets, and deployment readiness. Requirements & Qualifications 5+ years of software QA experience in a product environment, with deep hands-on expertise in test case writing, manual execution, and automated testing practices.Hands-on proficiency with Playwright for web automation and end-to-end testing.Strong hands-on experience with Postman for REST API testing, validation, and automated collection runs.Hands-on experience or active exposure using AI tools for writing test cases and accelerating test automation.Proven ability to test data-intensive applications, write/read SQL queries, compare records across multiple databases, and identify data integrity bugs beyond the UI level.Demonstrated experience facilitating UAT with business and non-technical stakeholders, translating operational feedback into clear engineering tickets.Strong proficiency in Jira (or equivalent defect-tracking tools) and experience navigating staged release environments.Exceptional written communication skills for writing clear bug reports, test cases, and release updates.High accountability during active launch windows, including flexibility for coordinated testing sessions during release cycles. Nice to Have Experience testing compliance-driven document generation (legal forms, regulatory reporting, complex PDF outputs).Experience working alongside external vendor/third-party development teams.Exposure to multi-state or multi-tenant system compliance requirements.
